St Patrick’s 2012

As another year speedily rolls by and the Christmas celebrations fade into a distant memory it is time to turn our attention to St Patrick’s celebrations. After the success of last years event at the Paphos Gardens we thought we had at last got a winning formula and future years would be a breeze! Unfortunately the Paphos Gardens is closed for renovations until April and St Patricks Day falling on a Saturday have proved complications for this years event.

When we first realised that the Paphos Gardens was not going to be available we went in search of another venue, unfortunately as there were so few places remaining open over the winter the prices being asked had gone up considerably. We have always worked to keep the prices of our events as low as possible as we realise that some people may be on a limited income and this has remained a priority.

As you will be aware the Irish Ambassador Patrick Scullion makes a point of visiting us on such occasions and this is something we have to take in consideration when Planning Events. This year the embassy will be hosting their event on Friday 16th and on the Saturday the Irish UN contingent will be holding their usual event which the ambassador is required to attend. As a result we will be holding The Paphos Event on the Thursday 15th March.

We will be holding the event at the Kamares Club, Tala in conjunction with our friends at ‘Kamares Entertainments’ who run the events at the club. By doing this we can offer a good night out at a reasonable price of €22.50 per person. There will be a Buffet Dinner and music will once again be provided by the ever popular Abzorba.

Tickets will be on sale from the 1st February and will be limited in number to 100, being sold on a first come (with money) first served basis. As always any proceeds from this event will be given to charity, in this case the St Michaels Hospice 400 Countdown Appeal. There will also be a raffle with proceeds going to the Cancer Patients Support Group who do a wonderful job and need funds to continue doing so.

Full details of the event will be posted shortly.
